About Jan Bloom
Welcome to the “Jan Bloom Photography” website.
Jan Bloom is a Dutch wildlife photographer based in The Netherlands.
Jan Bloom grew up at “de Veluwe” in The Netherlands. His grandfather was a Police Ranger and taught him at a young age how to spot animals and all about the wildlife in the Dutch forests.
The main part of this website are wildlife photographs taken on his many safaris through Africa. Jan Bloom visited; South Africa, Egypt, Sudan, Marroc, Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia & Zimbabwe.
Jan Bloom visited and photographed also various parts of Europe, especially The Netherlands, Scandanavia and wildlife from other parts of the world like the USA, Canada, Mexico and he was also part of the amazone expedition for 3 months.
For a number of years, he specialized in photographing wild cats like leopards, lions and cheetah’s. He was very fortunate to be able to follow for a couple of years several Cheetah’s at CCF Otsjiwarongo and Naankusé Namibia. Watching them hunt, grow up and having their own cubs.
The aim of the site is to promote wildlife conservation through wildlife photography – especially in Africa. Jan Bloom is also a ambassador for SPOTS and Painted dog, who are committed to cat’s and dog’s that are threatened with extinction.
